Supporting all independent businesses.
Did you know? We support independent business owners to run their own business in buildings we own. Most of these are pubs but we are proud to work with other types of businesses too.
Business owners James and David of the Five Lamps pub in Derby are overjoyed with the new look of their pub following a joint investment with Everards of just over £80,000.
The money was spent on sprucing up the internal areas to give the pub a ‘London Pub feel’, rich in colour and materials to create warmth throughout, mixing old and new designs seamlessly.
Business owner James said “We’re so pleased with the result. All involved worked so hard to bring our vision to life. We’ve been talking to Everards for a while now about what we wanted and they invested with us to give the pub a new lease of life. We’ve got the bug now and are in the process of looking at how we can do the same for our outside spaces. We do all this for our customers, to ensure they have the nicest experience when they come for a drink and we’ve had great feedback this week, so it makes all the dust and debris worthwhile!”
This is James and David’s third pub with Everards and the fantastic partnership has gone from strength to strength since 2003 when the two first joined up as part of Everards Project William scheme.
Everards invest in the exteriors of their pubs on a 5-year cyclical scheme and help business owners with any bigger projects throughout the years, usually supporting business owners in their investments to create a better pub experience for all that visit.
Box construction and Concept IDL worked hard to bring James and David’s plans to life, Chris from Box Construction said: “We were delighted to be invited to work with Everards to deliver our first project together. This traditional pub influence is direct from the drinking houses of London but in the heart of Derby! Five Lamps on Duffield Road. Introducing brass, stained glass, rich stain tones, ceramic tiles and polished timber floors, it certainly hits the brief. Good luck to David and James with the launch!”
The Five Lamps prides itself on being a real ale house with 11 real ales, 8 craft beers and 5 ciders on the bar daily! With a passion for live music and beer, this pub has a great atmosphere and is enjoyed by locals and visitors for its variety and ambience.
