The Royal Oak

14 Cross Green, Rothley LE7 7PF

Welcome to The Royal Oak

If you’ve been in hospitality for years, leading shifts, smashing service, holding it all together when the bar’s three deep, and thought “I’d love to do this for myself someday”, well… this could be your moment!

At Everards, we’re bringing over 175 years of hospitality experience into a new franchise-style agreement called Nebula - designed for experienced pub managers who want all the joy and ownership of running their own place with a lower financial barrier. It offers structure alongside the freedom to lead the pub day-to-day, and is backed by the usual Everards support.

This exciting Nebula opportunity is available at The Royal Oak, a standout village pub in a thriving Leicestershire community.

The Royal Oak in Rothley has got everything going for it - a welcoming layout, a great garden, and a loyal local community that loves a good pub. With the right person at the helm, it could become the beating heart of the village.

The Community

Set in beautiful Leicestershire countryside, Rothley is an attractive village that blends charm with modern convenience.

There’s a good mix of local amenities, including independent shops, a supermarket, traditional bakery and deli, plus a choice of welcoming pubs, cafés and restaurants. From proper fish and chips to more refined dining, it’s a village that enjoys eating and drinking out, good news for any ambitious operator.

It’s also exceptionally well-connected. Rothley sits within easy reach of Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham, with quick access to the M1, M69, A6 and A46. Rail links from nearby Barrow upon Soar and Sileby connect into Leicester and Nottingham, while Loughborough offers direct services to St Pancras railway station, making London easily accessible.

One of its standout features is Rothley railway station on the Great Central Railway - a beautifully restored 1899 country station, returned to its 1912 glory. It draws visitors and adds to the village’s strong traditional English character.

Prosperous, well-connected and surrounded by countryside walks, Rothley offers a loyal local customer base alongside passing trade and destination visitors. It’s the kind of village where a great pub doesn’t just trade - it becomes part of the fabric of the community.
