How much capital do I actually need to get started?

It depends entirely on the agreement. Our Nebula agreement offers a supported entry point for as little as £5,000, making it one of the most accessible routes into pub ownership. For a traditional tenancy, the investment varies hugely, depending on the site's size and location. We'll always be transparent about costs before you commit to anything, so you’ll always know the deal.

Do I need previous experience in the pub trade to apply?

No. We’ve helped corporate managers, career changers, and first-time entrepreneurs successfully take the reins. What matters most is your drive, commercial awareness, and people skills. We connect you directly with BII-accredited training academies to make sure you are fully qualified and trade-ready before your opening night. You can even ‘try before you buy’ and spend some time with some of our existing business owners who will show you the ropes, usually over a long weekend; it’s a great option for those new to the industry.

Will I be able to live at the pub?

All of our pubs come with live-in accommodation, each of varying sizes depending on the pub. We share details of all living accommodation on our pub listing pages and will show you around on your viewings. It genuinely varies from site to site across our Leicestershire and Midlands portfolio. When you speak to our team, we'll make sure to match you with pubs that suit your lifestyle, not just your budget. Just let us know your preference when you enquire, and we'll take it from there.

What kind of support will I receive from Everards?

You'll have a dedicated Business Relationship Manager who knows your pub and your goals, a real person, not a call centre. Support spans business planning, financial mentoring, property maintenance, and marketing guidance. The key is that it's always there when you need it, never imposed when you don't. Our ethos is hands-on support, hands-off management, your pub, your way.

How long does the application process take?

It moves entirely at your pace. Once you connect with Jay, Dave, or Karen, we focus on matching you with the right venue and building a robust business plan. Some partners find their perfect match within a few months, while others wait a little longer for a specific country pub to become available. There is never any pressure from us.

Am I tied to Everards for all my drinks?

Our legendary Tiger ale is the only non-negotiable tap on the bar. Beyond that, the choice is yours. You have freedom of expression with access to over 120 seasonal and craft beers from our brewery, and you can source the spirits, wines, and major commercial lager brands (like Carling or Cruzcampo) that your specific regulars want to drink.

Do I need to have a Personal Licence before I apply?

No, you don't need one in place before you enquire or even before you sign your agreement. What matters is that you're committed to getting there. We'll connect you with BII-accredited training for your Personal Licence and PEAT qualification as part of your journey. By the time you're ready to open the doors, you'll be fully qualified and completely trade-ready.
