A huge congratulations to The Dead Poets Inn in Holbrook for being crowned Amber Valley CAMRA Pub of the Year 2026, as well as Cider Pub of the Year. A fantastic and well-deserved achievement for a truly special pub.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Holbrook, around six miles north of Derby and conveniently located between the A6 and the A38, the Dead Poets Inn is a gorgeous old-world countryside ale house full of character and charm.
Originally known as the Cross Keys, the pub was purchased, lovingly renovated and given a new lease of life in 1997, when it was renamed The Dead Poets Inn. Since then it has become a much-loved destination for locals and visitors alike.
Step inside and you’re greeted by stone flag floors, low wooden beams and a roaring open log fire, creating an instantly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Brewery memorabilia lines the walls alongside thoughtful nods to poets past and present, giving the pub its distinctive personality and timeless feel.
