There’s plenty to celebrate at The Brunswick Inn in Derby after the much-loved pub was crowned Derby CAMRA Pub of the Year 2026 – a fantastic achievement for business owners Alan and Philippe and their brilliant team.

At Everards, we love nothing more than celebrating our business owners when they win awards – and if any pub deserves to take home three titles, it’s this one!

The awards were announced at The Flowerpot, Derby’s CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2025.

The award recognises the pub with the highest points across the CAMRA categories, and The Brunswick didn’t just win once on the night. Alongside Derby Pub of the Year, the Railway Terrace favourite also picked up Best City Pub and retained its incredible Derby Cider Pub of the Year title – an award it has now held for 10 years in a row.

It’s been nine years since The Brunswick last won Derby Pub of the Year, making this year’s recognition even sweeter.

Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, Alan paid tribute to the people who make the pub what it is.

“I had no idea we were going to win and it came as a complete surprise.”

He added:

“I just couldn't run the pub without the help of my team, and without the customers turning up day after day. We wouldn't be there.”And he reflected on how meaningful the recognition is for the industry:

“It is all the sweeter because pubs generally are struggling with costs currently, with even breweries going under, so it's good to know we have a good product that people keep coming back for.”

Alan and Philippe have been part of the Everards family for more than 10 years, building The Brunswick into one of Derby’s most respected pubs – known for its fantastic range of real ales, legendary cider offering and warm, welcoming atmosphere just minutes from Derby station. And the celebrations don’t stop there.

Alan’s sister pub, The Dead Poets Inn in Holbrook, also enjoyed success on the night, being named Amber Valley CAMRA Pub of the Year and Cider Pub of the Year 2026, taking it straight through to the East Midlands regional final.

Meanwhile, The Brunswick now goes on to represent Derby in the Derbyshire round of the CAMRA competition, with the potential to progress to the East Midlands finals and beyond.

Everyone at Everards sends huge congratulations to Alan, Philippe and the whole Brunswick team. Awards like this are a testament to the passion, hard work and dedication our business owners bring to their pubs every single day.
